About the Program
Singapore-born, Toronto-based Chinyi C highlights the everyday moments we often take for granted with a soothing, compelling sound that makes you lean into the people you love. Her set features original songs backed by storytelling, intimate acoustic guitar, and ambient sounds: exploring themes of moving across borders, love, grief, coming to terms with identity, and the search for home that underscores many immigrant experiences.
With a voice like a clear blue sky, Singapore-born, Toronto-based Chinyi C writes music that heals your inner child. Honest, soothing, and thoughtful, she draws her audiences into a world shaped by memory and meaning through intimate lyricism and lush fingerpicking, with broad influences spanning Tanya Chua, Sara Bareilles, Bread, and Donovan Woods. Her latest single, Everything is Changing, released in October 2025. Chinyi C first broke into the folk music scene with her debut six-song EP, All We Are (2022). In 2024, she released her single, Human, a folk and chamber-pop exploration accompanied by a music video that she co-directed. Chinyi C is currently working on her next recording project and has performed with collaborators including Jade Music Festival in Taiwan and Vancouver, Sofar Sounds, Pearson International Airport's YYZ Live, and Small World Centre.
