About the Program
Life is like a journey; stopping at a station evokes memories.
The performance includes Taiwanese folk songs, nostalgic tunes, works from different eras, and pieces incorporating elements of immigration, homesickness, and cultural heritage.
Chinese Music Ensemble of Toronto (CMET) has been dedicated to promoting Chinese and Asian music culture for many years, and has consistently participated in various community and cultural performances in Toronto. Through our participation in Toronto TAIWANfest, we hope to share the beauty of Chinese music with a wider audience from diverse backgrounds, while simultaneously fostering cultural exchange and connection between Taiwan and Asia within a diverse community.
We believe that music is a universal language that transcends language and culture. CMET's performance blends traditional and modern Taiwanese elements, showcasing the cultural characteristics of Chinese music and aiming to allow more young people and mainstream audiences to experience the vitality of Asian music culture.
