About the Program

In this year's Islands in the Wind, EnCello engages with the concept of the island not as a fixed geography, but as a fluid node within a network of sound. Through unseen currents, we explore how culture travels, transforms, and takes root.

Featuring our ensemble of seasoned professionals and rising students, this performance bridges mentorship, a diverse musical tapestry, and cultural exchange. Our journey spans the globe: from the wind-swept Scottish Highlands (The Gael, Skye Boat Song, Scotland The Brave), through bold cinematic landscapes (How to Train Your Dragon, Titanic, Cape No. 7), to the heart of Taiwanese nostalgia and contemporary reflection (New Endless Love, The Forgotten Time, Lukang, the little town).

Let the cello be the wind that carries you.

EnCello Toronto

EnCello Toronto is all about bringing people together through music. We’re a cello ensemble that combines performances with innovative music education. Our focus is on creating a space where professional musicians and apprentices can collaborate, learn, and grow together. It’s not just about the music—it’s about connecting people, creating opportunities and building a community.

Performance / Vendor / Sponsorship Opportunities

TAIWANfest Toronto is grateful to be held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, that is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We acknowledge our privilege to be gathered here, and commit to work with and be respectful to the Indigenous peoples of this land while we engage in meaningful conversations of culture and reconciliation.
